Nathalie Bondil
Museologist and art historian with an international reputation, Nathalie Bondil, Franco-Canadian, directed the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2007-2020) where she managed several expansion projects, including the ‘Arts of Tout-Monde’ intercultural wing in 2019. She initiated and exported interdisciplinary exhibitions, in fine arts, music, fashion and cinema. In artistic action and health research, her commitment for a more inclusive museum is recognized. She continues to develop her ‘museotherapy’ concept with the University of Montreal, the École du Louvre and the Institut National du Patrimoine in Paris. Canada Council for the Arts Vice-President (2014-2021), ICOM-France board of directors elected Member, she is the recipient of several awards and doctorates in Canada and France. In 2021, she joined the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris as Museum and Exhibitions Director, where she is notably responsible for the redesign of the future ‘IMA New Museum’. Initiated by its president Jack Lang, the museum’s modern and contemporary art collection has just been enriched with 1,700 works thanks to the major donation Claude & France Lemand.
